Cloud Based Real-Time Booking Engine

Problem

The booking platform used by the company was not easy to use, not scalable and it was not was possible to plug it into the company website.

  • New reservation staff struggled to use the software. It took a long time (and a lot of frustration) for them to learn and be confident with the platform
  • marketing team could not use the software while on the road, selling products for the company
  • Staff had to do bookings manually for the website
  • A toursim and hospitality company does not need high specs servers throughout the year

Solution

We collected feedback from the reservations staff and marketing team before we head-off and build something that we think was going to solve problems for the company.

The result was - a web-based booking engine which was the single source of truth for online bookings as well for in-store bookings.

It made onboarding of new reservation staff very easy with user interface which was built to make their work efficient and effective.

Marketing team could now close the deals with clients on the spot.

Resource management for online bookings as well as in-store was managed through the same platform.

Marketing team can manage the business rules related to the fare management.

The new booking platform was hosted on AWS to scale during peak period and special events.
